April 22 in Frankfurt
The movement „March for Science“ claims science as a pillar of human freedom and prosperity.
“The Marches for Science are a celebration of science. It's not only about scientists and politicians; it is about the very real role that science plays in each of our lives and the need to respect and encourage research that gives us insight into the world“, so proclaimed on the initiative’s website.
The Helmholtz Association, as Germany’s largest research Association, strongly supports the freedom of research, as Professor Otmar D. Wiestler, President of the Helmholtz Association, declares via video and report. HIM-scientists and everybody interested can support the initiative at the
local March for Science in Frankfurt, on April 22 at 1 am.
Prof. Concettina Sfienti, Dean of the Department of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, and Prof. Frank Maas, Director of the Helmholtz Institute Mainz, invite their scientists and all other supporters to spread the news and actively participate in the march!
